Per Esistere
                  "to exist"

Hiding from the morning sun
In tossed sheets
having wrestled threefold with you–

I find you not here.
Not even a shadowed warmth,
or the scent of your sweat
mimics where your body might have lain.

So I close my eyes, and picture again
the light as it attaches to your face
your gaze from across the room,
the same light I hide from cursedly
now in the early morn.

Your paused look. I rewind
and watch highlights and shadows
glide across your face.
Your eyes give me away
as I revel in a dream.

  1. Hi MC,
I really like this one. It's pretty and I have no idea what it's about, but I like it.

Your writing (from what I've read here) only continues to improve. Normally I'm not really a fan of this type of poetry (tis poetry yes?) but the the words you've chosen and how you've arranged them are really quite catching. All in all I get a beautiful yellow colour from this. Like a sort of brilliant liquid gold. (is that weird to think of poems in terms of colour?)

Anyway, good job, and good luck with the internship (or whatever it is that you're doing - I forget.)

(and BTW, you should read more novels - I should read more non-fiction too. Keep up the good work!)
